Black Widow Pride Spider Golf Ball Retriever
Picks up balls without bending
Black Widow Pride Spider Golf Ball Retriever Features:
- 12 ft Reach
- Clamshell packed
I got a cheap and cheerful ball retriever just after I started playing and it paid for itself within the first month of playing. With a good golf ball costing anything from 40p to £2 each it doesn’t take too many retrievals of balls ‘lost’ in the water hazards to get your money back.
This ball retriever gives me all of the benefits I’ve enjoyed with that old cheap model but with none of the drawbacks.
The quality of construction shows in the feel of the locking parts and the finish. It’s supplied with a nifty little plastic head cover that will protect the head from damage and also save your expensive clubs from scratching. The plastic cover is handy too as it won’t absorb moisture but lets the head dry after use.
The head itself is well made and unique in the way that it picks up balls by grabbing then with lots of ‘legs’. I don’t have to fight and twist this one to try and lock the ball into the head to get it out of the water. Just drop it over the ball and up it comes!
I really like the eye catching red and black finish. The neat little touch of the red ‘black widow’ sand timer logo on the back of the head has raised a few smiles. The 12 foot length is very useful. The old ball retriever I used was around 10 foot and you do need that length if you play on courses with deep or wide water hazards. My ball always seems to end up in the middle of the stream/drain/pond so having the extra reach is really useful. It opens in three segments so you can open it to be as long as you need.
I played this week and lost two balls in water hazards. Sadly I forget to take the ball retriever with me so lost those two balls along with another 5 balls I could see sat in the water just by my lost balls. That could have been 7 balls back in the bag and over a third of the cost of this item saved in that one trip alone.
A great item and well recommended. A great idea for the golfer who thinks they have everything.
