Five piece Ti ‘Tour Ready’ edition
The MP-650 Fairway is a ‘Tour Ready’ all titanium fairway wood engineered to
combine high average ball speeds with low spin rates – for a powerful,
workable ball flight.
As a Tour Ready edition, the MP-650 fairway metal heads are from the
same production line as those carried by Mizuno’s PGA European Tour
Workshop. With low spin rates and workability engineered for tour
players and low handicap golfers, the MP-650 will be available in
limited availability.
The MP-650 is a stripped back concept that revels in its simplicity –
with high spec materials, ball speed and impact sound prioritised over
adjustability. The new Forged 6-4 Ti face produces Mizuno’s fastest
ever ball speeds, with its multi thickness design taking COR (transfer
of energy) tight to the R&A’s legal limit. A deeper traditional
face, set up slightly open with and wider pear shaped body create an
efficient powerful flight with workability for consistent ball strikers.
The 5 piece Ti construction also allows for internal weighting to
vastly improve the MP-650’s vertical MOI (stability from miss hits high
and low on the clubface). Internal tests showed a 21% improvement over
its predecessor the MP Ti fairway. Mizuno believe that increased
stability on the vertical axis created forgiveness most needed by the
better player.

The MP-650's have really gone up a level in ball speed
Mizuno's fairway woods have always had a high pick up rate on the
tour. But at the Tour School in Spain it was clear that the MP-650’s
have really gone up a level in ball speed. Combine that with a workable
shape that our players themselves had input with and there will be
plenty of these in the bags in 2012.
