Excellent piece of kit. Does what it says on the tin! Gives feedback of the speed versus the effort you're putting in and allows you to identify what you're doing right. Should not be used instead of practising a 'good' swing.

I bought this product to get some feedback on my club head speed on a grass driving range. So far, I have found it easy to use and it gives readings that didn't surprise me relative to other tests I have done (eg. at a driver fitting / Trackman). It has displayed that my half-hearted, less committed driver swing generates club head speed of 93 mph, if I put some effort in / get my left shoulder under my chin a bit better it rises to 97-101 mph, and if I try everything I can to generate club head speed it gets to 105-108 mph. My ProLaunch Red driver shaft (S) works well if I swing above about 96 mph, but the ball drifts to the right if my speed drops to 93-94. I also tested my 3-wood (which I am more confident with) and it read around 95 mph club head speed.

An easy device to operate. The screen is clearly visible and the selected function/s are displayed instantaneously and constant until until the end of the following swing. This assists in controlling and maintaining the swing speed and its tempo. I have found that there is a discrepancy in the speed of practice/swing speeds against those when a ball is actually hit but this is not detrimental to the intended achievement. As with most sports perfect practice creates perfect results and this device certainly assists in determining the appropriate swing speed and tempo to improve the golf swing. Its ease of use and portability will allow the golfer to use it during every practice session. Don't leave home without yours!

An excellent product. Very simple to use and very accurate. It realy helps you increase your club head speed and allows you to "feel" the optimum tempo for your swing. I've increased my club head speed by at least 10 mph since using it.. I now use every time I have a practice session on the range. Woudn't be without it.

I have had my swing speed measured on a Trackman launch monitor at the Titleist National Fitting Centre and on an indoor monitor at a local fitting centre. They both said average 89mph with a driver. I set the SSRTT up (which doesn't involve anything more difficult than switching it on and putting it on the ground) and it read 89mph also, so I can say it is accurate. I would not question the accuracy of the tempo timer as that too reads what I expected. I spent a couple of hours working with it and got my speed up to 98mph. I hit over 200 balls and got only three readings which I thought were possibly suspect (103, 106 and 107mph). I find it useful because it eliminates all the other variables which go into producing distance. That makes it especially useful on windy days, when the actual distance the ball travels can not be compared with normal conditions. I can not see a reason to practice without it as, even if I am not specifically working on speed or tempo, I might as well have the feedback. I had hoped to be able to use the product to pracice swinging indoors without a ball. I do not know why, perhaps it is me, but I get readings about 20mph slower when I am not actually hitting a ball.

its an excellent training aid for checking your tempo and learning to keep a consistent rhythm,and when checking your swing speed its surprising how your club head speed can be increased by using the right technique instead of trying to hit the ball harder.

This is a fantastic product, it does exactly what it says in the description. Just aim it at the point of impact from 45deg to get an accurate reading. It is much easier to use than a metronome for finding a natural tempo. Plus it fits easily into a golf bag so it can be used for practice anywhere.
